Description

Warm light, right where your feet land

Stick one in the hallway between the bedroom and the bathroom. Walk past at 2 a.m. and it comes on by itself — a soft 3000K glow, low enough to keep you sleepy and bright enough to see the floor ahead of you.

  • Motion plus dusk sensor — it lights up only when it’s dark and you move
  • Fades out on its own after about 20 seconds
  • No outlet, no wiring, no drill, no marks on the wall

Small light, simple thinking

It notices you, not the daylight. A motion sensor and a dusk-to-dawn sensor work together, so the light only comes on when the room is dark and someone is actually moving through it. No glowing all afternoon, no waking up for nothing.

About 20 seconds, then it’s gone. Long enough to get down the stairs and find the bathroom door, short enough that the room goes back to dark once you’ve passed. It turns itself off — nothing to remember, nothing to switch.

Recharge it, forget about it. USB rechargeable, and a single charge runs for weeks of normal hallway use. No drawer full of batteries, no monthly trip to the shop — just plug it in now and then when it finally runs low.

Sticks on. Lifts straight off.. An adhesive plate presses onto the wall or under a shelf, and the light holds on with a magnetic base. No drilling, no wiring, no electrician — and when you move out, the light comes with you.

Where it earns its place

The hallway at 2 a.m.. No patting the wall for a switch, no ceiling light that leaves you squinting. The floor lights up a step ahead of you and goes dark behind you.

Night feeds in the nursery. Warm, glare-free light for the feed and the nappy change, soft enough that nobody in the room is fully woken up by it.

The stairs, for older family members. Put one near the top and one near the bottom, and the steps are lit before the first foot lands. Useful for visiting grandparents too.

Under the kitchen cabinets. A midnight glass of water without flooding the whole room with light — or waking anyone on the other side of the wall.

Renting? Nothing gets drilled and nothing gets rewired. Press the adhesive plate on, and peel it off when you leave.

Why not just the usual night light?

Plug-in night lights. They only work where there happens to be a spare socket — and that socket is never where you actually need the light. They also take a plug out of circulation.

Battery night lights. Cheap on the shelf, then a fresh set of batteries every few weeks. After a year, the batteries have cost more than the light did.

This rechargeable pair. Sticks anywhere, sips power, recharges over USB. Two lights cover a whole hallway route — one at each end — for $25.99.

A few things people ask

Will it switch on during the day?
No. It needs both conditions: the dusk-to-dawn sensor has to read the room as dark, and the motion sensor has to pick up movement. Bright afternoon light keeps it asleep, so it isn’t clicking on every time someone walks past.

How long does one charge actually last?
In typical hallway use — a handful of short visits a night — a single charge lasts for weeks. If it lives somewhere busy, like a stairway everyone uses, you’ll charge it more often. Either way it’s a USB cable, not a pack of batteries.

Do I need tools or an electrician?
Neither. Press the adhesive plate where you want the light, then hold the magnetic base against it. There’s no wiring and nothing to plug in, which is what makes it work in rented flats and on walls with no socket nearby.

How long does it stay on?
About 20 seconds after the last movement it detects, then it fades out. Walk through again and it comes straight back on.

Is it too bright to keep in a bedroom?
It’s a glare-free warm white at 3000K, aimed at lighting the floor rather than the room. It’s meant to be enough to see your way by without waking you up properly — think of it as a low glow, not a lamp.

Can I take it with me when I move?
Yes. The light lifts off the magnetic base, and the adhesive plate can be peeled away — so the pair travels with you to the next place instead of staying behind on the wall.
